About the Role

As a Food, Safety, and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, you are responsible for ensuring food safety standards are adhered to on the production floor, monitoring and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and reporting non-conforming conditions or observations to the FSQA Manager.

Evening shift from 1 : 00PM – 11 : 30PM (4 days)

Responsibilities

  • Document and report food safety observations from the production floor to the FSQA Manager, and escalate to production management as needed when compliance issues or deviations from standards are identified
  • Accurately document the results of food safety and quality monitoring activities using the plant management software- Safety chain and Excel
  • Maintain effective communication with the USDA inspectors and ensure all callouts are promptly reported- both verbally and in writing, to the FSQA Manager
  • Conduct daily audits, including but not limited to handwashing compliance, employee path of travel, and GMP audits
  • Perform allergen verification swabbing in both Ready-to-Cook (RTC) and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) areas
  • Responsible for performing aseptic environmental swabbing, preparing transmittal forms, and ensuring sample pick-up on a routine basis or as needed
  • Monitor GMP and sanitation practices during production walkthroughs to ensure strict compliance with FDA and USDA regulations
  • Enforce and uphold all food safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Review, organize, and file FSQA documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide support to the Quality Control team as needed
  • Escalate unresolved food safety or compliance issues any issues to the FSQA manager
  • Support training initiatives by assisting new employees with food safety onboarding and monthly standup training sessions
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related field
  • 6+ months experience using technology such as smart phones and tablets, inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Basic understanding of GMP requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Word and Excel
  • ServSafe food handling certified or equivalent desired
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Requirements

  • 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
  • Able to stand a full shift while working
  • Able to work evening and weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively as needed to carry out job functions, including reading, writing and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Must be comfortable working in various temperatures including cold environment (34-40 degrees Fahrenheit) and occasional freezer temperatures that can range anywhere from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit
