CVICU RN Job Details Location : New Haven, Connecticut 06510 Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Level I Trauma Center Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 12 / 2025 – End : 3 / 13 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts per week Weekly Hours : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880 - $2020 Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 (Days / Nights / Weekends) Charting System : Epic Parking : On-site, $125 / month Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut or compact state; CT license must be in process before start date) Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care nursing experience (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or with prior travel nurse experience) Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Proficiency with pulmonary artery catheters (Swan Ganz) Strong skills in arterial line management, ventilator management, cardiac rhythm recognition, titrating cardiac / vasoactive drips, and post-cardiac surgery care Ability to float to ICU and PCU as needed Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) One professional reference required CVICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions, including STEMI / NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, and post-cardiac surgery Monitor and manage patients with pulmonary artery catheters and advanced cardiac devices Administer emergency medications, blood products, and continuous IV sedation as needed Interpret arterial blood gases, manage ventilators, and respond to rapid patient turnover and admissions Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other critical care units (ICU, PCU) as required Participate in ongoing education and complete required modules prior to assignment start Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this rewarding CVICU RN job in New Haven, Connecticut!
