Job description

Job Title : Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Shift : Day / Evening / Night Shift

Location : Brooklyn, NY

Pay : $20-$25 / hr

Length : 3 Months

Education & Certifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certificate from an approved PCT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS / BCLS) certification required
  • Phlebotomy certificate
  • EKG Certificate

Job Summary :

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a position in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering direct patient care and related support in a timely and effective manner.

Duties :

  • Take and record vital signs and patient measurements.
  • Collect and prepare lab specimens; perform basic tests (e.g., dipstick, hemoccult).
  • Assist with vision, hearing, and urinalysis testing.
  • Administer first aid and basic life support as needed.
  • Assist in examinations and prepare exam rooms / instruments.
  • Educate patients on specimen collection and test preparation.
  • Conduct patient interviews and record medical history.
  • Maintain and organize patient charts and documentation.
  • Communicate patient observations to medical staff.
  • Answer routine patient inquiries and make referrals.
  • Support patient education and promote health / safety.
  • Track inventory and maintain supplies / equipment.
  • Assist with training of new staff and team coordination.
  • Escort patients and coordinate appointments.
  • Perform venipuncture and fingerstick blood collection.
