Job Opportunity : Child Protective Specialist Supervisor
The selected candidate will be offered a salary of $105,000. This position is only open to candidates who are permanent in the civil service title of Child Protective Specialist Supervisor. You must be a current employee of the Administration for Children's Services to be considered for this position.
The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Policy, Planning and Measurement (PPM) collaborates with every ACS division to guide systems analysis and strategic systems improvement; assure quality of practice at ACS and its provider agencies; professionalize the frontline workforce; bring knowledge into practice; provide research and analytic support; and plan and develop new programs and policies. The James Satterwhite Academy (JSA) onboards hundreds of Child Protective Service Workers (CPS) each fiscal year. CPS are required to be well trained as investigators of child safety. The Training Supervisor provides expert guidance and support and supervises child welfare trainers, covers for juvenile justice training unit, leads special projects and work in close collaboration with our partners at the Office of Training and Workforce Development.
This vacancy directly supports the hiring / training of front-line staff and services for children's and families via DCP, DYFJ and Providers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Child Welfare Training, the scope of work is highlighted below which this person will be responsible for :

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in one or a combination of the following fields : social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education (including early childhood), nursing or cultural anthropology, at least 12 of which must have been in one of these disciplines; 30 semester credits toward a Masters of Social Work degree or toward a graduate degree in a related field; plus eighteen months of child protective casework experience.
Salary Min : $100,050.00 Salary Max : $121,290.00
