Job description

12+ month contract to possible direct hire

M-F / Hybrid

About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Electrical Engineer with strong experience in the medical device industry to join our team supporting Surgical Innovations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resolving component obsolescence, supporting post-market activities, and addressing issues in manufacturing and product performance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Resolve end-of-life (EOL) component issues by identifying alternatives and qualifying replacements
  • Investigate and address customer complaints and post-market performance issues
  • Support manufacturing teams with troubleshooting and resolving product issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis , and drive effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
  • Ensure product designs meet applicable electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601)
  • Design, develop, and test electrical components and systems for complex medical devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Regulatory

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 610 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the medical device industry
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 60601 and other relevant safety and regulatory standards
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis , CAPAs , and post-market complaint investigations
  • Ability to multi-task , prioritize , and adapt quickly in a dynamic development and manufacturing environment
  • Preferred :

  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing , circuit design , and component qualification
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, especially during late-stage and sustaining phases
  • Clear communication and strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Schedule : On-site 4 days / week (Hybrid flexibility may be considered based on business needs)
