Description : Pre / Post Area Responsibilities : Assesses / reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process to : Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures / equipment, i.e. Cardiac Monitoring Care of and / or recovery of patient pre / post interventional cardiac procedures Care of patients wit vascular closure devices : application, maintenance, and removal Maintain / Pull Arterial and / or Venous Sheaths ACT machine Angioseal / Vasoseal Minimal Sedation Use of moderate sedation with use of safety and prevention guidelines involved in delivery of moderate sedation. Assist with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) with use of safety and guidelines involved in delivery of the procedure. Perform Bubble method as required when assisting with TEE Pain management and follow-up pain reassessment Blood draws and use of appropriate order-of-the-draw for labs IV therapy IV ADD Infusion of blood and blood products Information management Synchronized Cardioversion ICD s Pacemakers (Temporary and Permanent) Pre / Post Care and Recovery Schedule Notes : 13 Weeks; 36 or 48 hr. / wk.; DaysSkills : Procedural Area Responsibilities : Assesses / reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process to : Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures / equipment, i.e. Care of and / or recovery of patient pre / post interventional cardiac procedures Care of and / or recovery of patient pre / post electrophysiology procedures Care of and / or recovery of patient pre / post interventional radiology procedures Care of patients with vascular closure devices : application, maintenance, removal and post care. Assist with Vascular Procedures, including IVC Filters, Run-Offs, Acute and Chronic Occlusions Maintain / Pull Arterial and / or Venous Sheaths ACT Machine Assist with Peripheral Balloons and Stents Assist with Thermodilution and Invasive Monitoring Assist with IVUS procedures Assist with Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures Assist with FFR (Fraction Flow Reserve) Procedures Assist with Electrophysiology EP Procedures Assist with RF Ablations Assist with Cryoablations Assist with insertion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, maintenance and trouble shoot Assist with Loop Recorder Insertion Assist with ICDs, Pacemakers (Temporary and Permanent) Assist with Spectranetics Laser Synchronized Cardioversion / Defibrillation Pain management and follow-up pain reassessment Anaphylactic Reactions : Monitor for, manage, and use of anaphylactic kit MAC Lab System MonitoringEducation : EDUCATION AND LICENSURE : Associate s degree in nursing required. Bachelor s degree in nursing preferred. RN license required. CPR required BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required. 2 years experience required, 5 years preferred.Travel Experience Required.Job Category : Nursing
