Job descriptionSterile Processing Expert : Clean, sterilize, assemble, and distribute surgical instruments and Reusable Medical Equipment (RME). Quality Assurance : Operate specialized sterilizers and washers, performing crucial quality checks and biological testing according to VA and industry standards. Inventory Management : Manage hospital supply inventory and deliver critical supplies directly to patient care areas. Safety Focus : Partner with clinical teams to ensure equipment availability and prevent procedural delays. Job Stability : Secure a stable, long-term Government Assignment . Career Growth : Excellent opportunity to build specialized career experience in sterile processing and medical equipment reprocessing. Direct Impact : Play a critical, daily role in ensuring the safety and high-quality care delivered to Veterans. Experience : High school diploma or equivalent, PLUS 1+ year of experience in sterile processing, central supply, or surgical instrumentation (highly preferred). Knowledge : Familiarity with sterile technique, infection control, and surgical instrument identification. Physical : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing and mobility. Commitment : Must be willing to complete all VA background checks, immunizations, and strict onboarding requirements.
