Structural Designer

Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
• Ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
• This position requires access to federal facilities.
• Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.  If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
• Ability to independently execute detailed designs for complex steel and / or concrete structures.
• Proficiency in TEKLA software, including steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
• In-depth knowledge of Detailing for Steel Construction, ACI Detailing Manual SPI-66, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) practices.
• Strong understanding of engineering deliverables such as drawings and specifications, as well as construction methods for steel and concrete structures.
• Familiarity with the work processes of other disciplines and departments in a project environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express technical issues.
• Proficiency in office automation tools.
• Broad knowledge of structural engineering design principles and their practical application.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 12 or more years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years of experience.
