Ratio : 1 : 2. First-timers are not accepted. Weekend requirements : Every other weekend. Clinician will float within service line to ICU units. No on-call requirement. Patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, ARDS, acute chest pain, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, and sepsis. Unit details include pre and post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries, as well as medicine and neuro-medicine overflow. Special equipment includes IV pumps, CRRT, dialysis, ventilators, BiPAP, hemodynamic monitoring, and defibrillators. Daily census in the unit is variable. Interdisciplinary support includes therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
