Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Washington, DC 20007 (ideal for DC nursing jobs seekers) Healthcare Setting : Neurosciences and Stroke Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Duration : 13-week travel contract Shift : 12-hour night shifts (18 : 30 - 07 : 00), 3 shifts per week Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 Orientation : Comprehensive orientation with clinical modules Estimated Weekly Salary : $1610 - $1730 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof; must be in hand prior to start) Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown, IMC, or acute care RN experience At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required BLS certification (required) Preferred : ACLS, NIHSS, BSN Experience with Cerner electronic charting system Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity Two supervisor references required Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 28-bed Neurosciences and Stroke IMC unit Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and provide cardiac support Perform phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line care, and initiate IVs Manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, and wound vacs Care for patients with neurosurgery, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, heart failure, and related diagnoses Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education Provide care for COVID-19 patients as needed Experience the excitement of Washington, DC healthcare while making a difference as a travel nurse.
