Overview

Investment Editor / Writer (Hybrid) — The American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) is seeking an investment editor / writer. This full-time position entails creating compelling educational content for our publications and website, as well as for syndication.

This is a Chicago-based hybrid (home and office) position for a candidate who is well-versed in investing and possesses strong writing and editing skills. We are particularly seeking a candidate who is knowledgeable about stocks and / or mutual funds and ETFs. Knowledge of financial planning issues is a plus.

AAII is a nonprofit membership organization that assists individuals in becoming effective managers of their own assets through programs of education, information and research.

Responsibilities

• Explain investment concepts including asset allocation strategies, withdrawal planning and portfolio construction principles in written commentaries, presentations and video
• Demonstrate analytical techniques for evaluating stocks, mutual funds and ETFs (P / E ratios, expense ratios, performance metrics, etc.)
• Translate complex financial research into educational content for individual investors
• Write and manage a stock investment newsletter featuring educational insights and market commentary
• Oversee and communicate the process behind a model portfolio, including stock selection rationale and portfolio management concepts
