Maintenance Technician

Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for eager motivated Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to join our team

Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades such as painting carpentry minor electrical cement masonry dry wall or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining repairing buildings and facilities. This role may also perform certain preventative maintenance functions on material handling equipment and occasionally must work between both locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment; works from blueprints drawings or oral instructions.
• Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; performs custodial duties as required.
• Assists as directed in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems such as : HVAC loading dock doors and supporting system.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules.
• May be responsible for maintaining equipment warranties and maintenance agreements for machinery and equipment.
• Ensures all work is performed with strict adherence to communicated safety protocols and manufacturers specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

2 to 4 years of related experience in related industry or area.

Demonstrated problem solving abilities in order to troubleshoot equipment and maintenance issues.

Demonstrated accountability for quality accuracy and adherence to work instructions.

Work occasionally requires creative or innovative thinking problem solving or idea generation in carrying out duties.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers within a work area or to interact with customers or suppliers involving common courtesy.

Interactions with internal or external customers involves common courtesy providing information and support.

Knowledge and hands-on application of the following is required : construction practices and procedures maintenance and repair work rough and finished carpentry techniques material handling equipment and their use.

Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance to WHMIS working at heights and general health and safety protocol is required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to : (a) fluctuating heat and cold temperatures; (b) some noise associated with forklifts and other power equipment; (c) some electrical hazards; and (d) WHMIS chemicals.

PPE safety equipment must be worn and precautions exercised.

Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly throughout an 8 hour shift.

Duties may require a moderate level of sustained visual attention for periods of time and moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis.

Work requires the ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

Work requires the ability to bend twist lift reach push pull and stretch frequently.
