Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg night shift contract, requiring a VA or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (18 : 30-07 : 00)
  • Rotating weekends and holidays are required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to other units is required as needed
  • Participate in supporting and educating nursing students in addition to clinical care responsibilities
  • General orientation begins on Sundays, including online Computer-Based Learning (CBL) modules
  • Orientation includes nonbillable modules, averaging 4-5 hours, completed electronically
  • Scrub requirements and dress code will follow hospital policies
  • Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
  • Local candidates residing within 100 miles are not eligible for this position

  • Active VA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
  • Traveler's permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital service area
  • Must be able to complete drug testing 12-14 days before assignment start and accommodate repeat testing if requested
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
