Join the Park Authority and our nationally recognized team of professionals! You will be working as a part of one of the most highly regarded park systems in the country. With more than 25,000 acres of parkland, nine Rec Centers, eight golf courses, three lakefront parks, and more, FCPA is an exciting organization to be a part of and there are many opportunities for staff to make a difference at every level. Under the general direction of the assistant division director directs the building branch in all phases of park development. Directs and oversees a group of engineers responsible for developing recenters, parks, and park facilities utilizing a life cycle project management model (scoping, designing, contracting, permitting, bidding, and constructing). Develops and implements innovative methods for designing, permitting and constructing that reduces cost and time of delivery. Works with the Board of Supervisors, the Park Authority Board, interested stakeholders, the county attorney's office, school board, purchasing and supply management, and other supporting county agencies to implement assigned park projects.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following :

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in urban / regional planning, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, or a related field, and six years of progressively responsible experience in or affiliated with land planning and / or redevelopment, engineering or architecture, or management of large and complex construction or maintenance projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree from an accredited university with at least 5 years of experience that includes a combination of related engineering, landscape design and design in the construction field. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED :
Driver's license (required)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to hear and respond to typical construction site alarms and verbal safety warnings. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to operate county vehicle. Ability to safely climb ladders (up to 15 feet or more per floor), including navigating multiple floors on construction sites. Ability to walk across uneven terrain, including active construction sites. All duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
