Job Description
The Loan Underwriting Manager I supervises a team of Underwriters. The Loan Underwriting Manager I oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring. Location : Hybrid Mt Laurel, NJ; Charlotte, NC; or Jacksonville, FL.
Depth & Scope
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any / all disciplinary actions, as required Supervises daily operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency of workflow and staff Ensures 48 hour turn time SLA is met Manages employees in lower complexity lanes Helps with the selection process, orientation, compensation decisions and performance reviews of staff members Demonstrates sound judgment conveying departmental policies and procedures Conducts staff meetings and individual one on one monthly meetings with underwriters Underwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team. Underwriting authority of $1.5 Million dollars Performs other duties as may be assigned Provides exceptional customer service, congruent with WOW! Philosophies to customers, vendors and other institutions
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or work experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree required 10+ Years of related experience In-depth knowledge and understanding of bank operations, department policies, procedures, products, services, systems and applications Proven ability to interact with all TD Bank and departmental customers Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment a must Detail-oriented, self-motivated and has excellent customer service skills Excellent interpersonal skills Proven supervisory experience, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills In-depth knowledge of accounting Flexibility in adjusting priorities Proven ability to pro-actively manage workflow
