The Accountant is primarily responsible for general accounting duties that may include but are not limited to monthly general ledger account reconciliations; fixed asset processing; daily cash positioning / analysis; investment accounting, accounts payable back up; daily reconciliation of internal DDA's; correspondent bank accounts; teller balancing, assisting with month-end close and other analysis / reporting assistance as needed.
As an Accountant, you will :
- Provide other support to the Accounts Payable staff as needed for timely and accurate coding and payment of all approved Nicolet expenses through the Accounts Payable System.
- Assist with daily accounts payable oversight, including review of check runs, unusual items, ensuring proper recording of accounts payable items.
- Monitor vendor changes, monitoring missing payments, monitor duplicate payments,
- Assist with reporting vendor 1099's accurately, maintaining W9's on all vendors, and tracking property tax payments.
- Assist with reaching out to vendors to resolve purchase orders, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies or inaccurate documentation.
- Assist with monitoring expense reports and maintaining the credit card software.
- Monitor the general ledger for unusual items, including incorrect entries, misclassifications, etc.
- Maintain a permanent file for contracts and other department documents related to accounting.
- Performing periodic analysis to determine cash basis vs. GAAP basis variances.
- Monthly lease agreements monitoring and fixed asset projects.
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned.
- Responsible for monthly / quarterly reconciliation of Nicolet general ledger accounts (including those with more-complexity) and resolution of reconciling items within those accounts with appropriate staff / departments. Gain an understanding of the account(s) and offer improvements to documentation or underlying processes.
- Responsible for providing support to our financial analysts with journal entries, reconciliation of investment accounts and daily entries.
- Responsible for other reporting functions as assigned to include weekly and quarterly regulatory data compilation.
- Responsible for assisting with the fixed asset process including set up of new fixed assets, disposal of retired fixed assets, processing of monthly depreciation, payment and reconciliation of related property taxes and related reporting as necessary.
- Responsible for assisting with other accounting analysis and departmental functions as necessary to include data entry / scanning and other support functions in an accurate and timely manner. Serve as backup staff on other daily processing and balancing functions as necessary.
- Ability to articulate needs, concerns, changes and or to resolve issues directly with internal or external parties.
