Membership Services Specialist- Full-Time - Owasso, OK
Position Summary :
The Membership Services Specialist is responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing strategic membership engagement initiatives that strengthen member recruitment, retention, and overall satisfaction. This role serves as a primary connector between the Chamber and the local business community by promoting programs, increasing visibility, nurturing relationships, and supporting the Chamber's mission to grow Owasso.
General Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Chamber's mission and articulate the value of membership to prospective and existing Investors.
- Develop, implement, and actively manage a personal sales and engagement action plan.
- Collaborate closely with the President / CEO and Chamber staff to support organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, onboarding, and support.
- Conduct personal visits to new Partners and engage with members to understand business needs, relaying information to relevant Chamber departments.
- Work with the Programs Manager and Chamber committees to increase member involvement and influence retention.
- Maintain an active and organized prospect list within the Chamber's CRM database.
- Make phone calls confidently; follow up consistently with leads, members, and lapsed accounts.
- Work efficiently under timelines, deadlines, and periods of high activity.
- Uphold, model, and encourage adherence to the Owasso Chamber Employee Handbook.
- Professionally represent the Chamber at events and throughout the community.
- Attend Chamber events, programs, weekly staff meetings, and applicable training sessions.
- Assist with planning and executing all Chamber events and programs throughout the year.
Membership Recruitment & Retention
Develop and execute a comprehensive membership recruitment strategy to attract new businesses.Create and implement structured retention plans, including :A first-year onboarding / retention plan with enhanced touchpoints.An annual retention plan for continuing members.Develop recruitment and onboarding materials (prospective member packets, new member packets) in partnership with Marketing / Communications.Maintain and frequently update a database of prospective members, leads, and pipeline activity.Engage Chamber volunteers in membership recruitment efforts.Coordinate New Member Mentors and ensure new members are connected to chamber activities and opportunities.Conduct New & Renewing Member Orientation programs.Manage Member Pop-Ins and ongoing engagement outreach.Develop and manage a membership communication drip campaign.Support and coordinate the Membership Committee.Assist in servicing or collecting 90-day past-due or delinquent membership / sponsorship accounts as assigned.Ambassadors
Support the Ambassador Chair in preparing for monthly meetings.Assign Ambassadors to new members for their first-year engagement.Secure lunch sponsors for monthly Ambassador meetings.Coordinate, schedule, and staff ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, anniversary celebrations, and other business ceremonies.Recruit and onboard new Ambassadors.Coordinate Ambassador involvement in Chamber programs and volunteer needs.Leadership Owasso

Coordinate scheduling of Investment "ask" meetingsRecruit sponsors for Chamber events, programs, and publicationsAttend Investment meetings when invited by the President / CEOExecutive & Board of Directors Support
Prepare and provide data-driven membership and engagement reports for Executive Committee and Board meetingsWork closely with Chamber leadership to establish and execute membership goals aligned with the strategic planMeet monthly with President / CEO and Board Member Chair the Membership Committee to review membership activity and goals in advance of Executive / Board meetingsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of 2 years' experience in marketing, membership management, or customer service (preferably with nonprofit, association, or Chamber of Commerce).Knowledge of CRM platforms and database managementExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales, membership, and / or recruitment goalsOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience working with small businesses or the local business community is a plus.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation requiredPreferred Skills :
Graphic design skillsEvent planning experience.Basic understanding of economic development or business advocacy.Pay and Benefits :
Salary Range : $40,000 - $45,000Other compensation : Cell phone allowance, eligible for annual performance bonus3 weeks of Paid Time Off per yearEligible for benefits including dental / vision / life insuranceWork Environment :
