Commissioning Technician

ISG is seeking a qualified and experienced Commissioning Technician to join our Building Systems Commissioning Team. This role provides excellent opportunities to ensure quality and functionality of HVAC and Electrical systems in a variety of Business Units, including Education, Commercial, Food + Industrial, Housing, Government + Cultural facilities.

As an Employee Owner you will work with teams internally and externally on Construction projects of existing and new facilities. ISG provides New Construction and Existing Building Commissioning services to ensure accurate and optimal control of all building systems.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience :

• Experience performing HVAC installation, service, or maintenance, with hands on interest and / or Building Automation System (BAS) Deployment Experience (Technician or Design)
• An understanding and affinity for temperature controls, HVAC Systems, lighting controls, and other integrated building automation
• Familiarity with use of manual verification tools for HVAC and building automation systems
• Knowledge and experience troubleshooting HVAC and BAS systems
• Strong Communication, diplomacy, and consensus building skills, analysis and problem solving
• Ability to test building systems, maintain organized notes, and communicate deficiencies accurately to team members
• Ability to identify optimal operating setpoints for building systems and collaborate with building operators on adjusting system schedules, sequences, and setpoints to owner's project requirements
• Certification in HVAC from a relevant and credible organization preferred, but not required
• An ISG Commissioning Technician will :
• As a primary objective, through a thorough, organized, and intentional commissioning process ensure building systems operate optimally for energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, comfort, and operations
• Verify and document that building systems meet the contract specifications and design intent
• Perform Commissioning activities on new and existing facilities as directed
• Interface with and direct contractors on system corrections. Ensure due diligence from system installers and programmers
• Collaborate with and field feedback from owners, occupants, and operators. ISG commissioning team members are highly appreciated for improving indoor environments for all three
• Perform functional performance testing of equipment and systems
• Observe and document training and equipment startup activities as a field quality control advocate.
• Assist with ongoing training of operators
• Review designs, plans, and specifications for optimization and quality control
• Provide feedback to design teams

ISG will provide training and facilitate certification. ISG will provide tools necessary for systems testing and verification.
