Location : Remote (Eastern Standard Time), preference to be in or near Alpharetta, GA

If remote, you will be required to travel quarterly to HQ.

We’re seeking a z / OS Developer to join an established software engineering team focused on enterprise IT automation. You’ll contribute to the development and modernization of our z / OS agent, taking part in the full software lifecycle—planning, coding, testing, and deploying in an Agile environment using TDD and CI / CD practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, build, and improve C / C++ software for z / OS

Refactor legacy code to meet modern standards and product roadmap goals

Support build / test automation and deployment processes

Document technical processes and best practices

Research and introduce new tools and technologies

Collaborate with internal teams and mainframe providers to support and evolve the platform

Here's what we're looking for....

BS / MS in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of C / C++ development on z / OS
7+ years with z / OS Assembler

Technical Skills

Strong foundation in data structures, design patterns, and fault-tolerant programming

Experience with z / OS tasks such as job monitoring, restart logic, and SMF record handling

Familiarity with IPCS, JES2 / 3, RACF, SMP / E, USS, and XCF communication

Comfortable working with datasets : sequential, GDG, VSAM, IL / IE

Environment :

Git, Jira, or similar version / configuration tools

C / C++ development on Windows and Unix / Linux

Test frameworks (e.g., GoogleTest) – a plus

IBM i and z / VM – a plus
