Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY : Administers floor and critical care therapy modalities. Performs arterial puncture and blood gas analysis and instrument QC. Responds to cardiopulmonary arrests. Maintains and processes equipment. Provides specialized service to the department.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

Required : Vocational School Graduate (Respiratory Therapy)

Preferred : Associates Degree

EXPERIENCE :

Required : One year critical care experience.

Preferred : One year NICU / PICU experience. Knowledge and experience in basic floor care and mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, capnography and oximetry equipment.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :

Required : Respiratory Therapist I : Virginia Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (Licensed Respiratory Therapist – Code CardioPL07 in Lawson – OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist – Code CardioPL14 in Lawson)
