Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs
Murray State University seeks an innovative Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs to serve as the University’s chief academic officer and partner with President Ron Patterson in advancing academic excellence and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide vision and leadership for all areas of Academic Affairs, including six colleges, the School of Nursing & Health Professions, the School of Agriculture, libraries, research centers, and academic support units
- Guide program development, accreditation, and resource alignment
- Lead faculty recruitment, development, and student success initiatives
- Oversee academic budgets, accreditation processes, and compliance
- Partner with deans to launch new professional programs (dental hygiene, veterinary medicine)
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative academic culture
Required Qualifications
A Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., or appropriate terminal degree) from an accredited institution.A Scholarly record (peer-reviewed publications / creative activity) commensurate with appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure in an academic department.Proven record with a minimum of five years of academic administrative leadership with oversight of program development, accreditation, and budget managementStrong financial and resource stewardship skillsDemonstrated success in faculty and student success initiativesPreferred : Direct experience with professional program accreditation and managing complex academic portfolios
