The Gathering Kids After School Coach will work with elementary students to engage them in various planned activities designed to enrich their learning experience while building self-confidence and social-emotional skills. The coach will facilitate activities related to sports, cheer, dance, STEM, art, public speaking, and various career and trade-based topics. Strong leadership and communication skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners are needed. This role is vital in fostering a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages students to explore new interests, develop essential skills, and build self-confidence.
The Arts & Crafts Coach leads creative, hands-on projects for elementary students in a structured afterschool setting. The ideal candidate will combine creativity with strong classroom and behavior management skills, maintaining a positive, encouraging, and well-organized learning environment that aligns with Gathering Kids’ program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities :
Student Safety & Structure
- Supervise and engage students to ensure a safe, supportive, and organized environment.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to guide positive behavior and maintain focus during activities.
- Follow all program safety protocols, including emergency and communication procedures.
- Report incidents or concerns promptly to the Program Manager.
Creative Instruction
Prepare and organize materials ahead of each session.Lead structured, age-appropriate arts and crafts activities that foster creativity and self-expression.Encourage participation, teamwork, and respect among students.Help students connect projects to real-world themes like gratitude, teamwork, and community.Program Alignment
Follow Gathering Kids’ daily activity structure and organizational guidelines.Uphold consistency in routines, rules, and program expectations.Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay aligned with program goals.Team Collaboration
Support fellow instructors during setup, cleanup, and transitions between activities.Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and management using Brightwheel and walkie-talkies.Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in a team-oriented environment.Qualifications :
Experience working with children in school, camp, or enrichment settings.Strong classroom and behavior management skills.Enthusiasm for arts, crafts, and youth mentorship.Ability to follow program structure, safety procedures, and organizational policies.Must pass fingerprinting and background check .What we offer
Weekly Pay – Every FridayTeam Environment built on collaboration and respectPay : $13–$15 / hour (based on experience)Schedule : Monday–Friday, 2 : 45 PM – 6 : 30 PM (follows the school district calendar; closed on school holidays)
