ODF is looking for a Wildland Fire Supervisor Aviation Supervisor to supervise coordination of the necessary field activities to meet the District's Aviation Program objectives on a district level through cooperation with cooperators and federal agencies. This position supervises approximately 12 employees engaged in field activities, including aircraft management, suppression, and ensuring the maintenance of equipment and facilities to support the achievement of program objectives. This position provides supervisory and administrative guidance to subordinate employees necessary to meet goals.
Minimum qualifications include five (5) years of wildland fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading / supervising the work of others; OR a bachelor's degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field and two (2) years of wildland fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading / supervising the work of others.
Note : Some positions are required to successfully take and pass the physical fitness Work Capacity Test at the arduous level, and some positions must obtain the Class B Warden certification within the trial service period.
Driver's License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court / DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver's license, a record check will be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.
