Description :
Operates radiology equipment to produce radiographic images of the body for diagnostic routine purposes.
Positions radiologic equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications.
Takes x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
Retrieves radiologic orders and inputs related data into electronic medical records.
Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
Escorts patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provides instructions, and assists patients in positioning body parts.
Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Positions patients on examining tables and adjusts positioning devices for optimal imaging views.
Operates specialized equipment according to protocols under limited supervision.
Provides patient care across a range of health care needs in various settings.
Moves radiographic equipment to specified positions and adjusts controls for exposure factors.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Obtains acceptable radiologic images using CR / DR techniques and protocols.
Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors or designated personnel.
Maintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical supplies.
Adheres to infection control policies and administers first aid as needed.
Supports departmental goals through personal improvements and educational activities.
Maintains professional standards recommended by relevant societies.
Assists with monitoring patient levels of moderate sedation in an inpatient setting.
Assures informed consent has been obtained and addresses any patient questions.
Actively participates in Universal Protocol for invasive procedures.
Displays independent judgment in planning operations and making minor decisions.
Works directly with patients and internal / external customers.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
