Regional Surgery Center Administrator role at United Surgical Partners International, Inc . United Surgical Partners International, the country's largest ASC platform, is seeking a Regional Surgery Center Administrator for Evergreen Endoscopy Center, Freemont Endoscopy Center, and Edmonds Endoscopy Center. Evergreen Endoscopy Center is a facility in which physicians have an ownership interest. This facility has 3 treatment rooms and equipment for gastrointestinal procedures. Freemont Endoscopy Center is a facility in which physicians have an ownership interest, with 3 treatment rooms. Edmonds Endoscopy Center is a facility in which physicians have an ownership interest, with 2 treatment rooms. These centers have been recognized by Newsweek as among America's Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers in several years.
The ideal candidate will have ASC leadership experience or hospital surgical leadership experience with ASC exposure.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- The daily operation of the facility.
- Serve, with any appointed committee, as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.
- Report pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
- Appoint a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the Administrator.
- Plan for the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility.
- Overall management of the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement as applicable.
- Lead discussion / presentation during Monthly Operations Review calls with USPI's Home Office team.
Business Operations
Deploy, monitor, and ensure that USPI's EDGETM is the foundation of the facility's operational processes and integrated within the facility's QPI program.Ensure compliance with USPI's policies and procedures related to internal controls.Develop, monitor, and control staffing, operating budget, and capital budget.Develop, monitor, and control the purchasing plan to stay within the proposed budget and maintain group purchasing alignment.Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.Negotiate and manage external contracts with physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance, and purchasing agreements.Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.Foster positive work relationships among all departments and act as liaison between the Home Office and facility staff.Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedure manuals for staff use.Monitor variations in financial performance to avoid cash flow problems.Personnel Administration
Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities.Manage exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with facility policies.Review employee performance on schedule and annually where applicable.Review and approve disciplinary actions and / or terminations.Evaluate management performance and other staff as designated.Approve additions or deletions of positions and approve applicants for employment.Develop employee productivity analyses and ensure efficiency of staffing as case volume changes.Implement job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees.Manage employee files and records.Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development and promote positive customer relations.Clinical Services
Ensure clinical services comply with regulatory and accrediting standards; work with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee on service development.Manage nursing, central supply, medical records, housekeeping, and supervise contracted services (laboratory, radiology, pharmaceuticals, laundry, biomedical engineering).Monitor function of surgical and patient care equipment through contracted services and follow up on repairs.Develop and implement a sales / marketing plan and lead the facility's sales team in line with USPI's Sales Plan.Identify and develop new services appropriate for ambulatory surgery centers.Foster positive public relations, marketing, and planning.Quality Improvement
Develop, evaluate, and promote continuous quality improvement initiatives.Administer infection control and quality improvement reviews.Identify and correct quality care issues.Develop statistical indicators to evaluate overall operations and care quality.Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.Medical Staff Relationships
Process credentialing of practitioners.Collaborate with the Medical Director on review / revision of Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules on a biannual basis.Serve as a liaison with the medical staff to promote positive relationships and define service needs.Develop systems to align physician and patient needs with services and efficiencies.Administrative Representation
Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility.Act in accordance with the facility's vision, mission, and business philosophy.Maintain membership in relevant professional associations.Stay current on changes in the healthcare environment and act in the corporation's best interest.Personal Development and Professionalism
Identify areas for additional reinforcement through education or training.Attend mandatory in-services and meetings.Follow the facility's conduct and dress code policies.Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality.Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, patients, and staff.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.RN required.Minimum three years in a top administrative or management role in healthcare.Good command of English, verbal and written.Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.Governing Board may determine other qualifications as seen fit.Salary and Benefits
Salary Range : $135,000 - $180,000
Annual and quarterly bonus potential.
Working Conditions
Mobility to move about the facility to supervise employees and activities.Office environment with frequent exposure to patient care areas.USPI complies with applicable vaccination laws.
