Title : Working Team Lead (Maintenance Mechanics)

Team Leaders are working leads and show support to their crew by always being on the floor and available to help when needed for the betterment of the Bakery and Our Department.

Days :

  • 4 : 45am to 5pm Wednesday through Saturday
  • 4 : 45pm to 5am Sunday through Wednesday

Hours : See Above

Pay Rate : $28 / Hour to start - Depends on skill set; will discuss in interview

Job Responsibilities :

  • Directing activities of maintenance mechanics with a strong emphasis on employee development, performance expectations, and ensuring proper training as it relates to their job function.
  • Welding, plumbing, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; able to read mechanical and electrical drawings; working in high or out of the way areas like ovens, proof boxes, and conveyors; conveyor belt tracking and installation; understanding the bakery's manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for scheduling, supervision, work assignment, training, evaluation, and safety of maintenance mechanics.
  • Works in accordance with safety regulations and procedures at all times.
  • Supports General Plant Safety, LOTO, Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, AIB, and Internal Audits and Product Quality.
  • "Pre-Flight" checkout of operating systems prior to start-up of the line.
  • Participating in root cause problem solving & troubleshooting issues.
  • Performs preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance.
  • Capable of overhauling most process systems and equipment to ensure optimal equipment uptime.
  • Works cross-functionally with Operations and Sanitation Departments to provide effective maintenance support and to protect food safety and quality.
  • Understands levels of line downtime caused by equipment issues.
  • Understands call severity.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintaining positive employee relations by providing a people-oriented work environment designed to motivate employees and reduce turnover.
  • Ensuring fast reaction & responses to repair calls / equipment breakdowns and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

    • Requirements and Qualifications :

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with food production processes and the ability to work with specialized food manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills may be required.
  • Education : High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an apprenticeship or certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in industrial or food production maintenance, with hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining machinery.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments (including bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods).
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to address complex mechanical issues.
  • Attention to Detail : Precision in diagnosing problems and performing repairs to prevent future breakdowns.
