Summary :
Client is seeking a Systems Engineer - Career or Expert to support our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Everett or Renton, WA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, design, verification & validation (V&V), and demonstrate knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Diagram process as defined in ARP4754A / ARP4761 standards.
This role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, safety, and test engineering) to ensure robust system development, compliance with certification standards, and alignment to make a positive impact on the future of the Company.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.
- Lead development and maintain functional and logical airplane and system architecture.
- Ensure functional hazard assessments (FHA), preliminary system safety assessments (PSSA), and common mode analyses (CMA) in alignment with safety objectives.
- Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability to all levels (e.g., DRO, SRO, and SCD) requirements.
- Develop a plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model (item verification, system integration & verification, aircraft-level verification).
- Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA / FMES) and compliance with applicable aerospace / defense regulations (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).
- Lead discussions across software and hardware engineering teams during design and testing phases.
- Provide documentation and support for certification authorities (FAA / EASA).
- Participate in technical design reviews, audits, and interchange meetings.
Required Skill :
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical / Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 9+ years of experience in systems engineering lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains.
- Extensive hands-on experience with V-Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation).
- Knowledge of safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA / FMES).
- Familiarity with certification frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).
- Strong analytical thinking, clear technical writing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Developing System modeling (SysML / UML, Cameo, or equivalent) at the airplane and systems level.
- Leading test planning and execution across multiple integration levels.
- Aircraft design, development, and certification knowledge.
