A leading national defense litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Cyber & Privacy Class Action practice in Los Angeles, CA . This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to take on significant, substantive responsibilities in defending complex class actions.
The Position
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation attorney who is eager for career advancement and hands-on involvement in high-stakes cases, including cyber and privacy matters.
Key Responsibilities
Defend privacy lawsuits and data breach class actions in state and federal courts nationwide (including MDL proceedings).
Draft and argue dispositive motions (motions to dismiss, strike, oppose class certification, summary judgment).
Manage strategy, timelines, and organization for multiple class action matters, including removal and consolidation efforts.
Handle discovery, including drafting responses, taking and defending depositions, and working with expert witnesses.
Participate in mediations and settlements, and draft settlement papers for court approval.
Qualifications
5–10 years of complex litigation experience in state and federal courts.
JD from an accredited law school.
Experience with class action litigation required; cybersecurity and data privacy experience strongly preferred.
Strong research and writing skills, with demonstrated experience drafting dispositive motions and briefs.
Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills.
Experience managing large-scale e-discovery cases.
Familiarity with defending data breach and privacy class actions (BIPA, CIPA, VPPA, etc.).
Working knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedure.
Highly organized, team-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters under deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range of $170,000 – $800,000 , commensurate with experience.
