Senior Legal Counsel - Insurance

A company is looking for a Deputy General Counsel - Insurance & Regulatory Affairs.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide expert legal advice on underwriting, claims handling, product development, and distribution strategies

Oversee regulatory compliance programs and serve as the primary legal contact for state Departments of Insurance

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated legal support and identify legal risks

Qualifications :

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Minimum 10 years of legal experience focused on insurance law, including property & casualty and reinsurance

Deep familiarity with NAIC model regulations and state insurance regulatory environments

Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory relationships and support enterprise compliance functions
