Job Description
The ship's Nurse is responsible for providing appropriate day-to-day health care to guests and crew onboard. Performs nursing care in a proficient, calm and professional manner during routine work shifts as well as during a crisis, increased workload or emergency.
Responsibilities
- Starting an intravenous infusion
- Assisting with a cardiac arrest with drugs, ventilation and compression
- Calculates correct drug dosage and administers medication as per physician’s prescription or order
- Checks emergency equipment, maintains established par levels of medical supplies and medications
- Assists the physician with procedures, treatments, document nursing interventions, observations and sets up treatment rooms
- Initiates nursing intervention for non-urgent patients, such as but not limited to ice application, dressings, splints and bandages
Requirements
