Chipton-Ross is seeking a Chemical Operations Technician for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
MUST have chemical manufacturing experience
Previous chemical or manufacturing experience preferredBasic computer skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsGood math skillsAbility to work independently and execute strenuous physical activitiesAbility to work indoors and outdoors and on any shiftMust be able to read and write EnglishPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Package and ship finished goodsLoad, unload, and clean equipmentMaintain a safe and orderly work areaAssist other production areas as neededPerform yard responsibilities including sampling, weighing, inspecting loads, loading trucks, railcars, and iso-containersFill and package drums and totesOperate and field-check process equipmentMonitor process conditions and control systemsPerform troubleshooting and initiate work requests in SAPParticipate in Immediate Response Training and IR team activitiesSupport EH&S initiatives and improvement teamsDispose of waste and hazardous materials properlyComplete Operator Minor Maintenance activitiesContribute to AIMS initiatives and improve unit operating efficienciesEnsure compliance with all safety and environmental regulationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
Experience in chemical plant operationsKnowledge of SAP for work requestsFamiliarity with EH&S programs and RCRA trainingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and climbAbility to work in varying environmental conditionsREQUIRED EDUCATION :

Full-timeScheduled and unscheduled overtime requiredPosition starts out days for a month and then rotate with 12 hour days / nights. Schedule rotates.
