The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Teen Trip Staffto join our team.

As a Teen Trip Staff you will be responsible for leading backpacking and water based trips for a group of 10-12 teens ages 13-17. If hired for this position, you will live and work in a cabin / yurts, with a co-leader, to provide constructive and responsible leadership. You will also be responsible for developing camper character and values; fosters community, encouraging group leadership, and developing stewardship while facilitating group discussions and activities related to values, leadership, and self-awareness all while providing a quality experience to campers and families.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work with Teen and Trips Director to facilitate teen leadership programs.
- Deliver progressive leadership programming, as part of camp's teen leadership programs.
- Supervise, engage and build community with campers.
- Lead safe, programmed, skill building, and fun off-site trips. Maintain awareness and supervision of campers.
- Follow guidelines for off-camp trips as explained in the Adventure Manual.
- Follow camp safety guidelines; follow National Park / Forest regulations and always abide by "leave no trace" guidelines.
- Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
- Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
- Staff are responsible for understanding, executing, and upholding all camp safety protocols and standards while off-site / on-trail.

POSITION SUMMARY :
Works with a co-leader to provide constructive, responsible leadership and guidance for a group of 10-12 teens ages 13-17. Leads backpacking and water based trips.
