Registered Nurse Job Details Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract Location : Columbia, SC 29204 (South Carolina nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care Hospital, General Surgery Operating Room Start Date : December 8, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Shift, 4x10-hour shifts (6 : 30am - 5 : 00pm) Hours per Week : 40 On-Call : 1-2 call days per week (starting at 5pm); 1 call weekend every 5 weeks (Saturday 7am - Monday 7am) Patient Ratio : 1 : 1 Unit : General Surgery (9 OR rooms) Scrubs : Hospital-issued Charting : Epic EMR Parking : Free parking with pass provided Estimated Weekly Salary : $1630-$1750 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact Registered Nurse license (must be active prior to start) Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in acute care or hospital setting BLS certification required Radiation badge (provided by agency) Experience with a variety of surgical procedures (see responsibilities below) First-time travel nurses welcome Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities Circulate and / or scrub for general surgery, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, neurological, robotic, and ENT cases Administer and monitor conscious sedation Ensure proper specimen handling and labeling in the OR Maintain strict adherence to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures Operate and maintain specialized equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response) Float within scope to meet hospital needs Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency surgical needs Why Choose Columbia, SC?
