Primary Care Physician

Astrya, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring Primary Care Physicians for California state correctional facilities in Corcoran, Wasco, and Delano, CA. These positions are 6-month locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

• Qualifications of a Primary Care Physician :
• Current California MD or DO License
• DEA
• ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association
• Board Certified
• Duties / Responsibilities of a Primary Care Physician :
• Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses
• Performing routine check-ups and health maintenance exams
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Adhering to the facility's policies and procedures, as well as applicable legal and ethical standards
• Educating patients about preventive care and health maintenance
• Prescribing medications and adjusting dosages as necessary
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Contributing to the rehabilitation and reintegration efforts
