Vice President, Business Development
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Vice President, Business Development to lead the growth strategy of SKLSI. This executive will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and other growth initiatives. The VP, Business Development will work closely with executive leadership across LSI and SKBP to drive revenue growth, expand the product pipeline, and strengthen the company's market position.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth Planning Develop and lead LSI's business development strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
- Partnerships & Licensing Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic alliances, licensing deals (in-licensing and out-licensing), co-development agreements, and commercial partnerships.
- M&A and Investment Opportunities Source and evaluate potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and investment opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives.
- Market Intelligence & Opportunity Assessment Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify emerging trends, white space opportunities, and potential targets or partners.
- Deal Structuring & Negotiation Lead due diligence and deal structuring activities, including financial modeling, valuation, and contract negotiation in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, and Finance teams to align internal capabilities with external opportunities.
- Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including biotech companies, pharma partners, investors, academic institutions, and research organizations.
- External Representation Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and partnering forums to enhance visibility and establish key industry relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field; MBA, PharmD, or advanced degree strongly preferred.10+ years of progressive business development experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry.Proven track record of executing strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and / or M&A transactions.Strong understanding of drug development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization models.Experience working in or with small or mid-sized pharmaceutical companies preferred.Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.Ability to multitaskMaintain composure under pressureAbility to follow verbal or written instructions and use of effective verbal communicationsAdapts change, adjust change and grasps information quicklyExamine and observe detailsStrong network within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.Ability to work independently and make high-level decisions with limited oversight.Comfortable in a hands-on, resource-constrained environment typical of small companies.Passion for innovation and improving patient outcomes.
