The Department of Physics in The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for an ElectricalEngineer position to work in several areas within the department. Thisposition is responsible for the development of electronics and instrumentationneeded for nuclear physics and other physics group's research projects. Theywill collaborate with engineers, researchers, students, and faculty to solve highly complex technical problems to enable research innuclear physics and other fields. The incumbent will train students in aspectsof modern analog and digital electronics, and is expected to bring creativityand design capabilities to the tasks. Travel tooffsite laboratories and research facilities, including internationallocations will be required.

Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with low noise and low temperature electronics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to carry out software and hardware maintenance and upgrades for computers for data acquisition and for general use.
Ability to travel to off-site laboratories, including international locations.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a full-timeacademic professional position appointed on a 12-month service basis. Theexpected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. Applicantsmay be interviewed before the closing date; however, no hiring decision will bemade until after that date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000- $95,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications andexperience, while also considering internal equity. This position will beexpected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on afull-time basis per the University'sWorkplace Flexibility policy Sponsorship for work authorization isavailable for this position.
