Senior Manager, Missile Defense
The Senior Manager, Missile Defense is a member of the Lockheed Martin Government Affairs (LMGA) team responsible for managing customer-facing interfaces and strategies in support of Lockheed Martin's Missile Defense portfolio, with additional portfolio coverage as assigned. This position reports to the Director, Missile Defense Programs on the Space, Strategic, Missile Defense, and Technology Mission Team. This position requires significant Department of Defense (DoD) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) expertise with specific knowledge of DoD, Joint, and Service Programs, and functions as a liaison to specific U.S. Government (USG) personnel with responsibility for Missile Defense matters, with additional portfolio coverage as assigned. Significant familiarity with national security space operations and acquisition and the broader space enterprise is a desired skill. This individual is responsible for developing close working relationships with appropriate DoD, Service and Agency commands in the Huntsville, AL region and relevant associated commands across the U.S. to ensure Lockheed Martin equities for its Missile Defense portfolio are well represented. Additionally, this individual facilitates the discovery, development, evaluation, and qualification of new business opportunities and "keep sold" activities on Lockheed Martin contracts for programs of record pertaining to Missile Defense. This individual will work with the Director, Missile Defense Programs to facilitate alignment activities across Lockheed Martin business areas with respect to Missile Defense, ensure consistent messaging to the USG on assigned efforts, establish capability development priorities, support mission area campaign plans, and add value to LMGA and business area programs and activities. This individual will coordinate Missile Defense customer contacts, briefings and communications directed to DoD and MDA in the region and support such coordination with relevant customers and stakeholders with LMGA counterparts in other localities.
The ideal candidate has prior U.S. Government military or civilian service in an Operational, Resource, and / or Acquisition capacity, with direct experience in staff roles supporting MDA, Service, or OSD / Joint Staff activity with Missile Defense equities, while also possessing the experience to cover a wider range of additional areas in support of this multi-faceted mission portfolio in addition to missile defense.

Ability to Work Remotely : Part-time Remote Telework : The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position : 9x80 every other Friday off
