Set and certify all tools in appropriate tool holders.
Proficiently use all approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
Ensure systems and standard practices are in place to guarantee the proper procedures are being followed for all tooling inspections.
Work with the Quality / Manufacturing Engineering department to ensure tool life estimates are optimal.
Inspects and measures tools / equipment for defects and wear, visually or by using a micrometer - reports damage or wear to supervisors.
Physically supplies pre-set tools and equipment to work centers for all shifts in advance of production demand.
Stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in production environment.
Prepares routine inventory reports tools and equipment by means of electronic systems.
Order tooling, maintain fixtures.
Assist procurement of tooling for R&D and new part introduction.
Receives / unpacks incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
Maintains and tracks an overall tooling budget.
Maintain the tooling database, including : order entry, inventory transactions, tool tracking, tool setting, inventory control, and the distribution of all tools used in manufacturing.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Makes sure that tools are delivered to the production floor efficiently to maintain the production schedule.
Ensures proper tools are in place to properly execute tool inspections, tool setting, tool delivery, and tool storage.
Manage information used in setting of tooling (e.g. set up sheets, layout sheets).
