Personal Injury Attorney

DZ Law Firm in McAllen, TX is looking to hire a _personable, aggressive, experienced, and motivated attorney _with Personal Injury experience (including pre-litigation through trial) for Associate Attorney position.

The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 2 years of practice experience in the areas of Personal Injury law and will handle all aspects of a case from the beginning to end.

• Responsibilities :
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients;
• Drafting / Filings Civil Complaints;
• Draft / Respond Discovery Request and thorough review of Discovery;
• Meet and Confer with counsel on discovery subpoenas, global settlements;
• Draft Motions and Prepare Trial documents (MILs, Exhibit Binders, Joint Trial Documents);
• Taking / Defending Depositions;
• Appearance at Hearings;
• Develop legal strategy and maintain caseload of 70+ cases in pre-litigation / litigation with other supervisory and administrative duties;
• Review / Oversee Legal Secretarys work and resolve pending issues;
• Training, mentoring, and professional development of administrative staff;
• Responsible for case reporting, management, and outcome tracking; using Neos or relevant legal software.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Qualifications :
• 1-5 years of Texas Personal Injury law practice experience (including trial) preferred. Salary based on experience.
• Member in Good Standing with Texas Bar;
• Ability to effectively supervise legal work in a fast-paced environment and high-volume practice;
• Experience managing and motivating a team;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create a culture of feedback and continual improvement;
• Organization skills and attention to detail;
• Strong, demonstrable written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent negotiation skills;
• Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.

• Skills
• Proficient in writing legal documents and correspondence
• Knowledge of personal injury law and legal administrative procedures

• Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis or other legal research tools
• Experience in litigating personal injury cases is a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Knowledge of premise liability and personal injury law.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
