American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least one year of multi-specialty ambulatory OR experience and a current SC or Compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an ambulatory Operating Room setting within a perioperative facilityCovers a variety of surgical specialties including ophthalmology, ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, and total jointsNo general surgery, L&D, or pediatric cases are performed in this unitParticipates in pre-op and post-anesthesia care with a team of 10 RNs, 1 PCT, and supports 20 pre / post bays, 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural roomScheduled for four 10-hour day shifts a week from 6 : 30am to 5 : 00pm, with some late shifts per month and occasional floated assignments within PeriopEpic EMR system is used and experience is preferredPre- and post-op duties include prepping patients, vital signs, medication reconciliation, initiating IVs, and post-anesthesia recovery and dischargeWorks closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff in a busy, fast-paced environmentRTO must be submitted at the time of application; requests of more than 7 days or including holidays require approvalLocal candidates within 60 miles are accepted and prioritized after non-local applicantsBlock scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteedPosition does not accept first-time travelersAll travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)Scrub or dress code details will be provided by the facilityMandatory online modules must be completed pre-start, averaging 4 hours\n \n Requirements\n
Active SC or Compact RN license must be issued and active prior to startAmerican Heart Association BLS certification requiredMinimum of 1 year of Operating Room RN experience in ophthalmology, ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, or total jointsMust provide radiation badge from parent companyExperience with Epic charting preferredMust submit SSN and valid driver’s license for considerationPrevious permanent or PRN staff with the system must be separated for at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
