Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the PCT I performs delegated patient care activities in a manner that is aligned with the age specific needs of the patient to ensure safe, accurate, and high-quality care. PCT I is an entry level position whose job functions include but are not limited to : providing for a patient's activities of daily living (ADLs); limited screening, collection, and recording of data and information; maintenance of unit supplies and equipment; patient transporting; answering call-lights, telephone, Vocera. There are four pathways of entry into the PCT I position (see EXPERIENCE). If coworker is under the age of 18, he / she may not operate a power-driven hoisting apparatus such as a Hoyer Lift. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Perform activities of daily living (ADLs) : bathing, oral care, grooming (shaving), urinary catheter and ostomy care; assists with meals and feeding; assists with positioning, ambulation, and mobilization; assists with elimination and toileting.
• Screening / Collection / Recording data & information : vital signs, intake & output, weights, specimen collection.
• Restocks patient room and unit supplies, performs equipment checks.
• Transports patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, bassinet.
• Answers patient call-lights, telephones, Vocera. Communicates and reports patient data and information to the RN.
