Overview

Water Resources Professional Engineer (PE) – Tampa, Florida. Immediate opening for an experienced Professional Water Resources Engineer, with a Florida PE License, to join the Water Resources team in Tampa, FL.

What You Will Do

  • Work under a Water Resources Team Leader in the development of Water Resources design projects for FDOT, FEMA, Water Management Districts, FDEP, and local municipalities.
  • Perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Florida communities.
  • Assist in managing the workload of design staff including Engineers, EITs, and technical staff.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize adverse impacts on project outcomes.
  • Review water resources designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or Engineering Intern Certification (EI) in the state of Florida.
  • Technical experience with ICPR4 (Stormwise) and ArcGIS.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, water resources planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in teams and multi-task.
  • Proven business development experience.
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity, and success.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites and navigate job sites and construction areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and spend prolonged periods at a desk or computer.
