Packaging Harvesting Seeding Sanitation Shipping & Wearhouse Grow Room Position Overview & Responsivities : The Production Operator will be responsible for (depending on which department you're assigned to) : - Packing leafy greens into containers according to quality standards. - Sorting products for quality, referring poorer quality items to the Quality Team. - Adhering to all safety, food safety, and operational procedures in the seeding area. - Following instructions from the seeding coordinator and machine operator. - Preparing cloth inventory and cleaning seeding areas and equipment. - Operating scales and metal detectors for accurate weights. - Distinguishing between different packaging materials. - Tracking and recording quality losses. - Operating the automatic packaging line. - Cleaning and sanitizing the facility to meet quality and bacterial standards. - Frequently lifting / moving heavy hoses, equipment, and chemical containers (up to 75 lbs). - Assisting in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts or other devices. - Wearing specified protective gear. - Utilizing chemical cleaning solutions with protective gear. - Performing various tasks while standing, lifting, and bending for long periods. - Completing general and routine tasks under supervision. - Demonstrating basic knowledge of necessary tasks. - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead. High School Diploma or Equivalent. - Experience in food production is helpful. - Effective communication skills. - Basic English proficiency (required for reading, writing, understanding, and speaking). - Ability to work in a cold environment (34 degrees F) for extended periods. - Weekend availability is a must. - Ability to respect and maintain confidential information. - Capability to work within a team environment. - Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. - Ability to operate an electric forklift / pallet jack after training. - Strong time management skills to meet shipping deadlines. - Detail-oriented and organized. - Basic math skills. - Ability to use scales and computers. In accordance with organizational protocol, employees will at times be required to fill absences in the operation process that are equal to or lower than their positional hierarchy.
