Position Summary
The Family Health Center's Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are mental health professionals who provide psychotherapy, counseling, and other forms of therapy services to clients. The LCSW's role revolves around the social aspect of patients' health and provides them with useful advice and guidance on how to deal with a range of psychological issues that they may experience. Trained in providing healthcare, the clinical LCSW diagnoses and treats mental disorders in patients taking care of them through the process of their treatment.
The LCSW Clinical Lead will focus on Therapist supervision and assessment and diagnosis of behavioral, emotional, and psychological disorders. The LCSW Lead will work with medical and mental health professionals to develop treatment plans for clients. As a healthcare provider, he / she empathizes with patients by putting his / herself in their shoes, understanding their challenges and conditions, to help them pass through them successfully. The LCSW Lead pays close attention to patients, observing their response to treatment and where they are not responding positively, recommends a change of treatment. Other tasks the LCSW Lead will perform include helping people who have experienced traumatizing events to overcome any psychological and emotional burdens and will collaborate closely with individuals who suffer from substance abuse. The LCSW Lead will also educate the public and bring awareness to mental health issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following :
- Develop and nurture mutual relationships and confidence with patients.
- Provide supervision of Clinical Components and mentorship to MSW / LSW Therapists.
- Review, document, and sign evaluations and treatment plans performed by assigned mentee.
- Evaluate patients' conditions to determine the level of care and assistance they need.
- Retrieve patients' personal and social health history to determine their conditions.
- Work together with patients to produce effective and realizable treatment techniques that will yield satisfactory results.
- Enhance clients' cognitive and behavioral changes that are in line with the overall treatment.
- Evaluate the efficiency of all treatments administered to patients and identify the most effective ones.
- Attend courses and training organized for clinical social workers to learn new skills and techniques for better treatment of patients.
- Keep clean records and documentation of clients' information, conditions, treatment, and progress.
- Direct clients to available community resources which are beneficial to them.
- Work with the family of patients to provide the care and support they need.
- Performs individual, family, and group therapy.
- Provides emergency psychiatric services as needed.
- Reaches productivity standards set for clinical role.
- Completes Patient Charts and sign off in a timely manner.
- Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings and quality improvement projects.
- Must maintain licensure.
Performance Requirements
Mental : Good judgment required. Able to communicate verbally and in writing on professional level with both external and internal customers. Able to accept clinical responsibility and train / mentor other therapists.Physical : Pass all preemployment screenings. Have ability to travel to workshops, meetings and offsite job locations as needed.Skills & Abilities :Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, on a professional level with all required contacts.Possesses critical thinking skills to assist patients / clients with problem solving.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Social Work Code of Ethics.Familiar with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Collaborates with others in a professional manner.Formulation of the proper course of treatment utilizing appropriate interventions.Possesses sound critical thinking skills and can assist patients / clients with problem solving.Understand HIPAA laws and protocols.Working Conditions : clean, well-lighted, heated and ventilated environment.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Master's degree in social work from an accredited institution.Licensed Clinical Social Worker in IndianaThree (3) years' experience practicing as a LCSW.Supervision Experience Preferred or like experience.A natural leader and advocate.Familiar with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Collaborate with others in a professional manner.Possesses sound critical thinking skills and can assist patients / clients with problem solving.Understands HIPAA laws and protocols.Pay Range : $67,000 per year
