Job Title : Lead Switchgear Technician

Location : Henrico, VA

Contract : Long term

The Lead Switchgear Technician oversees daily production activities, ensures workflow efficiency, resolves technical issues, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. This role also guides technicians, coordinates resources, and maintains communication across shifts.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead daily production operations and provide performance feedback.

Communicate daily plans and resolve production or customer service issues.

Coordinate staffing needs and assist with budget and expense control.

Identify bottlenecks, monitor material shortages, and work with Purchasing / Expediting.

Track NPI, pre-production, and rework tasks.

Respond to scrap issues and stop / alert when quality indicators drop below target.

Work with Test Support / Maintenance to resolve equipment problems.

Maintain department communication boards and ensure smooth shift handoffs.

Participate in process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications :

High school diploma required; technical / vocational training preferred.

4+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or switchgear assembly.

Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to understand diagrams, schedules, and moderately complex instructions.

Good communication and problem-solving ability.

Basic math skills : rate, ratio, percentage, and graph interpretation.
