Medical Collector

Job Description

The collections specialist is responsible for making outbound and taking inbound calls from patients regarding their outstanding medical bills.

Explain to patients their insurance coverage, deductible, copay, etc.

De-escalate patient and address questions and concerns

Facilitate payment plans or obtain payment in full

Maintain patient records and documentation

100 calls / day, but they're only talking to about 15 calls / day.

Incentives :

• This position is commissions eligible after the training period. The average collector makes $1500 / month. Commission is based on their individual collections and also the team's collection goal. Their top collector is making over $3k a month.

Qualifications

1+ year of collections experience; medical collections is preferred

Face to face with customers is a big differentiator. It takes more skill to deal with a difficult customer in person rather than on the phone.

Someone with a lot of patience. People with a lot of logic tend to be great.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.32 - $20.32 / hr.
