Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position in New Jersey, requiring a NJ or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Work in a Med / Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital

Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 30)

Patients include those with CHF, stroke, renal failure with fluid overload, stable non-STEMI, and post cardiac procedures

Patient ratios typically range from 1 : 5 to 1 : 7, varying with acuity and census

May float to Med Surg or other units according to skill set and hospital needs

Use of telemetry equipment and rhythm strip interpretation required

Must work every other weekend

EMR system : Epic

Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, and intervention for telemetry patients and those with complex medical conditions

Expected to float within skill set as needed

Scrub color is navy blue

Must be available to work two of the three winter holidays

First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Completion of facility-specific modules, including four hours of Epic training and up to 18 hours of additional non-billable modules, is required prior to start

Providing adequate notice is required for contract cancellation, and all missed shifts must be made up within the same pay period

\n \n Requirements\n

Active NJ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration

Minimum two years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience required

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips

Previous RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least one year before consideration

Background and license must be clear of active issues
