Senior Cost Managers, Data Centers

WWPS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cost Manager to join our Data Center Construction Management team, supporting multiple large-scale, mission-critical facilities across Texas.

Position Overview : As a member of our highly reputable cost management and estimating team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class cost solutions for some of the most complex and rapidly evolving data center projects in the region.
The cost management team provides expertise in conceptual estimating, cost planning, feasibility studies, value management, economic forecasting, milestone reporting, change order review, BIM 5D cost modeling, LEED and life-cycle costing, and more.
This role requires a cost professional with strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, capable of mentoring others, managing small teams, and independently leading major cost management workstreams for hyperscale and enterprise-level data center projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Data Center Project Cost Management
Lead and manage project cost planning across all phasesfrom conceptual design through commissioningfor large-scale data centers, including MEP, civil, structural, architectural, and mission-critical systems.Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed CAPEX estimates and cash-flow projections aligned to client budgets and project milestones.Support design and construction teams in benchmarking and value engineering, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising reliability or redundancy standards (Tier IIV).Review contractor bids, proposals, and change orders for accuracy, scope alignment, escalation, and constructability impacts.Provide detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to project leadership and clients.Client and Project Interface
Act as the primary cost management liaison between WWPS, clients, and contractors to ensure transparency and fiscal control across all trades and systems.Develop and nurture client relationships through consistent communication, reporting, and performance excellence.Support executive leadership by preparing cost dashboards, benchmarking summaries, and data center cost trend analyses.Leadership and Team Development
Oversee and perform QA / QC reviews of deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with WWPS standards.Mentor and train cost estimators and technicians in data center-specific systems, including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, and building envelope coordination.Manage multiple concurrent projects and small teams with minimal supervision while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.Additional Core Duties
Perform value analysis, bid evaluations, and post-contract support.Participate in risk and value management sessions to identify and mitigate cost-related risks.Support pre- and post-contract audits and reconciliation of invoices, change orders, and claims.Engage in peer reviews, constructability assessments, and project controls integration.Represent WWPS at industry events and maintain an active network within the AEC and mission-critical construction community.Regular and punctual attendance during standard business hours.Knowledge & Skills Required
Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power distribution (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling systems (CRAC / CRAH, chillers, cooling towers), and low-voltage systems.Proficiency in construction cost estimating methodologies, benchmarking, and industry databases.Working knowledge of MEP systems, procurement strategies, delivery models (Design-Build, CMAR, Lump Sum), and project controls.Ability to interpret and analyze design documents (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls).Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost data to stakeholders clearly.Experience in cost forecasting, change management, and earned value reporting.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software such as WinEst, CostX, Sage, or similar.Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills; capable of developing team members and collaborating across disciplines.Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments and adapt to evolving client needs.Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.7-10+ years of experience in Cost & Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying, preferably on data center, semiconductor, or other mission-critical facilities.Professional accreditation strongly preferred (MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE, or equivalent).Experience working with large global clients or hyperscale technology companies is a plus.Benefits : This is a full-time position with World Wide Professional Solutions.
