Opportunity
The General\nSupervisor leads day to day operations in Assembly at AFO. Responsible for\nachieving goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and\nSustainability for Assembly. Provides highly visible front-line leadership to\nengage and inspire the team. Establishes basic and consistent flow through\nthe factory.
Drives\ncontinuous improvement in all areas of the Value Stream from customer order to\ncustomer delivery. Leads cross functional collaboration with Product\nEngineering and Marketing groups to achieve this goal. Demonstrates a\nrelentless commitment to eliminate all forms of waste within the Value Stream.
Specific Responsibilities
- Achieves\nrequired output levels both in terms of total throughput and the achievement of\nassembly times.
- Works to\ndevelop assembly leads and supervisors to ensure continued growth and\neffectiveness within the department.
- Establishes\nand maintains an effective 5S culture.
- Identifies\nand drives improvement throughout the value stream, emphasizing a focus on the\nend customer and achieving consistent and quick delivery to the end user.
- Develops and\nenforces standard work. Conducts standard work audits as needed to achieve\nrequired targets.
- Assumes\nresponsibility and accountability for successfully achieving goals or\ncompleting assignments.
- Develops\nappropriate metrics, clearly communicates goals to the team, and measures\nperformance against the established goals.
- Communicates\ndaily on PH2 targets and schedule adherence. Works with scheduling to ensure\nproper execution of the schedule to achieve past due and strategic core\ntargets.
- Leads and\ndevelops the manufacturing area, utilizing best practices in visual management\nto communicate and monitor group performance, including, but not limited to,\nglass walls.
- Conducts\ndaily Tier 2 meetings with all assembly leadership.
- Participates\nin daily production meetings and reports out on the status of Assembly using\nthe Tier 2 board, to include : SQDC.
- Identifies\nwaste in all forms and leads projects to eliminate waste.
- Guides the\nAssembly team on the continued development of the “model cell.”
- Promotes and\nexecutes effective TPM program.
- Establishes\nrealistic OEE baselines and improvement objectives.
- Creates a\nculture of continuous improvement with high levels of associate engagement\nthrough : The active collection and execution of improvement ideas; works with upper management to foster their engagement and active\nparticipation ; works to achieve and sustain Tier 4 status in KSMS, KQMS; celebrates success through individual and group recognition activities.

Skills / Requirements
\n \n
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in a technical field. Master's in Business Administration, or related Master’s degree, preferred. Related experience can be substituted for education if the candidate is currently degree seeking.Minimum of 5+ years of experience directly with tools and methods in Quality, Lean, Continuous Improvement, or other known improvement systems, in discrete or continuous manufacturing environments.Minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience.Ability to teach, mentor, and coach across multiple levels of the operation (shop floor to plant manager) so the customer can maintain and improve standards developed through kaizen events.Proven ability to use systematic problem solving to solve technical challenges.Proven ability to communicate across broad levels of business : from shop floor to executive leaders using effective methods.Excellent team facilitation skills. Build teams in a collaborative work style; proven success in team building and motivating others.Strong leadership and change agent skills. Able to build and maintain relationships using influence, teamwork, and positive facilitation to overcome obstacles.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (Access Preferred), and SharePoint required.#LI-SW1
