Machine Shop Manager
Pay : $120,000 – $185,000 / year (based on experience)
Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday (40+ hrs / week)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to oversee daily operations in a high-mix, low-volume machining environment. The role involves managing people, equipment, and schedules to meet production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily CNC and manual machining operations
- Plan production schedules and allocate labor / resources effectively
- Lead, coach, and develop machinists and setup personnel
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve throughput
- Track and report key performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity)
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ensure safety compliance and equipment maintenance
Qualifications
10+ years machining experience, including 5+ in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of CNC and manual machining, setup, and toolingExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturingAbility to interpret engineering drawings and GD&TSkilled in team leadership and performance managementFamiliar with ERP systems and lean principlesTechnical degree or equivalent experience preferredBenefits
